Declare me winner or declare the polls inconclusive – Eleka

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 14 gubernatorial elections in Ekiti state, Pastor, (Prof), Kolapo Olusola Eleka, has urged the election petition tribunal to declare him as the winner and governor elect in the election.

While testifying before the tribunal sitting at the FCT High Court, Apo, Abuja, Olusola who is the immediate former governor of the state, however stated that the tribunal should in the alternative declare the election inconclusive or nullify it and order for a fresh election.

The Ikere Ekiti born politician adopted his written statement on oath as his testimony before the tribunal, while being led in evidence by lead counsel for the petitioners, Malam Yusuf Ali (SAN).

His three responses to the defence of the three respondents before the tribunal were also adopted by him.

“Having scored the highest vote, I should be declared validly elected and returned as the elected governor of Ekiti state,” he said.

He made it known that the only alternative to not declaring him as the governor elect of the July 14 polls, is for the courts to declare the election as inconclusive and order for a supplementary election (a re run).

“That the election held on July 14, be nullified and in its place enter an order for a fresh election to be conducted or held throughout the state.

Professor Kolapo Olusola, a pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church Students Association (CACSA) had expressed his confidence to reclaim his mandate at the tribunals during a revival service in July during CACSA’s International Conference in Oshogbo Osun state.
