EKITI ELECTION: DECLARED RESULTS NOT THE WISHES OF THE PEOPLE – CACSA PRESIDENT
The declaration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi as the winner and governor elect in the recently concluded Ekiti state governorship election is not a true reflection of the wishes of the Ekiti people.
This was revealed by the president of Christ Apostolic Church Students Association, (CACSA), Pastor (Dr)Joseph Babatope Adeyemo at the annual international conference of the group in Osogbo over the weekend.
The highly respected man of God, who retired as a permanent secretary in the Ekiti state civil service, says that “in reality, and what we saw during the election, we know that the declared result is not the true reflection of the wishes of Ekiti people”.
Refraining from speaking further on the outcome of the election because the “issue is in court”, Pastor Adeyemo declares that they are praying that the mandate of the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate, in the person of Professor Olusola Elaka be returned to him. “We are praying that the mandate of this man of God be returned to him through the judicial process that is ongoing”.
Lamenting the gross under utilization and mismanagement of the abundant resources available in the country, Baba president, as he is fondly called by followers, said “we have resources, the physical resources, we have the financial resources, but the human resources is the problem”.
“We are looking forward to a time when people who are burdened, who are concerned with the problem of the people will be in government.
